Kauri Pass Moderate Trekking

The region of Garhwal Himalaya (uttrakhand) one of the most beautiful and sacred is in Indian Himalaya, dominated by high mountains as Nanda Devi, Kamet, Neel Kanth, Trishuli and many more peaks, bordered with Nepal in the south-east and Tibet on its north east, You will be visiting the pilgrimage site of Haridwar (The gate way to the God) where Kumbha Mela is held every twelve years and Rishikesh the sanctuary of saint and Sadhu's. Evening join the Arti at Ghat (Bank of Gange), most fascinating religious ritual in the world, grand arti (religios song to honor the Mother Ganga.

This is the Mythique land of Shiva and the Nanda Devi is worshiped as the protective deity. Trail goes through the pasture (Bugyal) where Shepherd can be seen with their flocks, Dense forest, snow caped mountains, isolated villages of Bhotia, they are gentle and welcoming peoples. Further to mysterious lake of Roop kund where as human skeletons of 500 - 600 years old are found, Trek ends at Lohajung and drive to Nanital one of the famous hill station of India and to Delhi the capital of India. Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Rishikesh to Joshimath, 250 kms. (1800 mtrs.) O/N in hotel :

Leave early, Stop over after 70 kms at Dev Pryag where confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda form Ganga is a literal sense of birth place of Ganga, Joshimath (Jyotrimath), winter seat of the Rawal Sahib of the Badrinath shrine.

Day 2: Joshimath to Gorson via Auli, (3020 mtrs) 4 hours :

Trek 1 Drive for 15 kms. till Auli known for winter ski resort, Trail goes by the Meadows, slowly higher mountains gets appears one after, Nanda devi is the known among several other, campsite in middle of forest.

Day 3: Gorson to Tali (31 65 mtrs.) 4:30 hours :

Trek 2 Graduel climbing by alpine meadows high over the valley floor of Nanda devi sanctuary. Camp site is surrounded by forest of Oak, Pine, Mapple etc.

Day 4: Tali to Dhakwani or Dhoma Beti (3245 mtr) over Kuwari pass (3850 mtr.) 5 hours :

Trek3 2 hours easy climb till Gailgarh (3425 mtrs.) It offers close view of Trishuli in east and of glorious Tapovan valley. A wide path leads to Kuwari pass. Zig zag trail through Bamboos and Rhododendron bush leads to camp site.

Day 5: Dhakwani or Domabeti to Panna - Ranni (2200 mtrs.) 5.30 hours :

via Chartoli ( 3100 mtrs ) Trek 4 Path leads through forest to Chartoli meadows where shepherd live in summer. After short walk high over the valley descend to Virahi valley, campsite above isolated Panna village.

Day 6: Panna - Ranni to Samkharka (2400 mtrs) 6.30 hours :

Trek 5 Trail passed through the farms down to gorge of Virahi Ganga (river). Two hours gradual climb to the camp site surrounded by forest in a small meadow. Various kind of birds can be heard singing melody in the evening and morning.

Day 7: Samkharaka to Ghunny (1900 mtrs) over Chacknivinaik top (2855 mtrs.) 6 hours :

Trek 6 2 .3o hours easy climb till the top, offers extensive view around the valley and far distanced mountains. Graduel path to the meadows high over the valley floor. Long descend downward to the Nandakini valley. Campsite in above the Gunny village.

Day 8: Ghunny to Satol (1955 mtrs) 8 hours :

Trek 7 Easy walk till devkhani village, short descend and again steady climb till Ukta for 1 Hours. Up and down trail leads to Satol, visit village, camp site is out of village on the confluence of Nandakini and Roopani river.

Day 9: Satol to Wan 5 hours :

Trek 8 Gradual trail through forest to the Kunol tribal village, visit village and short climb to the top. One and half hour descend to Wan, The beautiful campsite out of the village.

Day 10: Wan to Bedni (3354 meters) 5-6 hours :

Trek 9 Easy trail in beginning, than steady walk through jungle of silver fir and Rhododendron to Camp site, you could see the appealing range of Himalayas. One can visit the temple of nanda devi and Saint Beas in the circle of the lake.

Day 11: Bedni to Roop Kund-Bhogbasa: (4267 M) 7 hours :

Trek 10 steep trek to reach at the top of Kelukavinaik, During the months of August to October the valley is full of fragrance of Saussurea Obvallaa flower, locally known as Brahmkamal. One hour easy trail till campsite located a top of valley floor. short easy climb to mysterious lake of Roop kund where as human eletons of 500 - 600 years old are found, same way back to camp site at Bhagwabasa.

Day 12: Bhogbasa to Didina: 6 hours :

Trek 11 Same way back till Bedni bugyal, now enter in Kumaun region. trail goes over ridge providing excellent view of the valley, Reach to beautiful campsite of Didina. After establishing the camp visit village.

Day 13: Didina to Lohajang: 4 hours :

End of trek 12 Steep descend till river bed, than gradual walk for 2.30 hours to Lohajang. end of the trek, see off the porter or pony man, O/N in camp.

Day 14 : Drive to Rishikesh :

Trip end at arrival in Rishikesh

Short Trek for Kuaripass are Also possible :: 7days Trek Ghat to Auli & 3 Days Trek Auli to Tapovan via Kuaripass is also possible.
